Ethiopian Public Health institute needs to employ in the following positions on contract bases.
Joining the COVID-19 response, World Bank and MOH have been supporting emergency response for the Regional and National Emergency operational Centre (EOC) to enhance the impact, reach and efficiency of responses through the integration and coordination of risk communication, Surveillance, case management, mental health, special need, Point of entry, logistics & EOC activities and approaches in strong collaboration with the health team, IM, and under the guidance of EOC each pillar chief.
COVID-19 infection and maintaining the continuum of essential services of EOC through strengthening coordination and technical support at the national and regional level by deployment of technical assistance (TA).
EPHI will deploy TAs who will be supporting the Federal Ministry of health/Ethiopian Public Health Institute at national level and regional level at region EOC.
The TAs also will link with the Regional Health Bureau Country office and regional office staffs, and their respective Regional health bureaus and to regularly update on the regional level response and gaps in the areas of COVID-19, as per assigned and provide information and technical support when necessary.
Job description
Support the regional health bureau in the preparation of detail quarterly, monthly and weekly plans;
Support implementation of planned activities,
Supportthe collection of reports from zones, organize reports, review and evaluate performances;
Facilitate trainings and workshops, produce RCCE related tools, guidelines and Communication materials and follow effective distribution and dissemination of materials.
Produces planning and reporting templates
Supports RCCE team in defining the plan and strategy to mainstream risk communication and community engagement effectively into covid19 preparedness and response plans and ensure strengthened engagement of and accountability to people and communities in all structure.
Leads and coordinate the setting up/strengthening of appropriate feedback systems in line with established feedback standards in priority zones/woredas and rolling out rapid assessment understand the community perceptions, beliefs, rumors and complains.
Ensures feedback, community perceptions and insights are regularly analyzed and shared with key operation teams and
decision makers to inform action.
Guides coordination efforts across the region and supports inter-agency coordination with a wide range of partners and stakeholders to ensure synergy, integration, coherence, and harmonization of community engagement actions, including the rolling out of technological solutions and innovative approaches.
Engages in key stakeholders’ leadership coordination meeting to ensure community engagement issues and insights drive the health response.
Identifies partnership opportunities with key local and international partners.
Supports evidence-based learning by assessing and monitoring levels of community engagement through supporting research, impact surveys, perception studies and case studies.
Engage in other priority RCCE activities of the outbreak
Job Requirements
Education Level
MPH inGeneral Public health, Health education and health promotion and related field.
Work experience
Six years of experience of which two years in risk communication and community mobilization.
Experience in social and behavior change communication in health area
Experience in a coordination role, including with multi-sectoral stakeholders
Experience in leading community engagement approaches and capacity building efforts of local organizations.
Experience in planning targeted and appropriate behavior change approaches.
Experience of designing and implementing assessments,
Experience in community, CBO and local implementing partners engagement;
