Job SummaryDesign, implement, and monitor EQA activities. Provide technical support to ensure EQA participation, utilization and to build national EQA/ PT production capacity at all level.
Directorate

Reports to
National EQA coordination Team Leader, National Laboratories Capacity Building Directorate, Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI)
Support and coordinate overall EQA participation and utilization at all level of participating laboratories
Assure implementation of IEQAS, NEQAS, and REQAS activities at the national level
Work closely with reference laboratories and other laboratories for the production of panels at the national level
Facilitate the importation and clearance of Panels with working with EPSA and other stack holders.
Distribute EQA panels to participant laboratories in a regular interval
Provide an objective-based report and analysis of performance data of IEQAS and REQAS promptly
Development of different EQA guidelines, manuals, protocols, training materials, instruction, reporting, and feedback formats related to ISO 17043
Conduct onsite evaluation visits to EQA participant sites to evaluate their participation performance and to
make recommendations for improvements
Perform other related activities as found to be relevant
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory technology and MSc in Clinical Laboratory Science, laboratory management and Quality assurance or Microbiology or Parasitology or MPH and at least 6 years of related demonstrated progressive working experience in medical laboratories testing
Demonstrated expertise in medical laboratory sciences with adequate knowledge of Quality Management System Implementation and Accreditation
Demonstrated experience in EQA utilization and performance evaluation in medical laboratory testing service
Ability to support regional laboratories and testing sites in EQA testing, reporting, evaluating, and utilization all the time
Ability to objectively analyze situations and make recommendations for decisions Outstanding report
writing and communication skills
Ability to work with people at different level reference laboratories, regional laboratories, partners, donors, and other stakeholders
Strong computer skill Excellent communication in English and Amharic- competency in written and oral English
