Directorate National Laboratories Capacity Building Directorate, Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI)

Support and coordinate laboratory quality improvement initiatives

Assure implementation of LQMS and other QI activities in laboratories of national network

Mentor, support and capacitate laboratories in the national network to attain ISO accreditation

Provides basic laboratory and TOT trainings related to accreditation and quality improvement

Assures Implementation of tier based laboratory quality standard

Development of different laboratory guidelines, manuals, training curricula, standard operating procedures as well as job aids/formats related to accreditation and laboratory quality assurance

Support/coordinate development and review of laboratory quality manuals

Support regional accreditation and quality improvement activities

participate in monitoring and evaluation of Accreditation and quality improvement activities

Participate in assessment/ auditing activities

Participate in institutional quality committee for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of quality and accreditation performance and continuous laboratory quality improvement activities.

Perform other related activities as found to be relevant

Requirements

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and MSc in Clinical Laboratory Science or Microbiology or Parasitology or MPH and at least 10 years of related demonstrated progressive experience working in a medical diagnostic/ research laboratory setting .

Experience and Requirements

Demonstrated expertise in medical laboratory sciences with adequate knowledge of Quality Management System Implementation and Accreditation

Ability to objectively analyze situations and make recommendations for decisions

Outstanding report writing and communication skills

Ability to work with people at different levels - partners, donors, community level organizations and other stakeholders

Strong computer skill

Excellent communication in English and Amharic- competency in written and oral English
