Position:- Specialist-IT Quality Assurance and Testing

Job Grade: - 7

Duty Station: - Addis Ababa - Head Office

Availability: - As Soon As Possible

Job Purpose: - The purpose of this job is to design, develop, execute, and maintain test plans, testing cases and methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all business and corporate applications.

Summary of Major Duties and Responsibilities

Executes test cases as per the test plan.
Manages defects, generate reports, define testing strategy and communicate and document test results.

Acts as a bridge between the business and development team during functional and non-functional requirements gathering and final acceptance of software by the department;

Plans and executes script-driven automatic and manual testing for regression and all other kinds of testing.

Provides technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments.

Recommends program improvements or corrections

to application developer.

Identifies coding and development issues enter them into the defect tracking system and resolve the issue with application developer.

Provides reports, recommending alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in existing and in-progress IT systems and other related duties as assigned.

performs Team Foundation server configuration and deployment of application software

Liaises with other IT teams to ensure timely resolution of complex software quality assurance issues;

Conducts periodic user satisfaction survey to continuously improve service;

Stays updated with latest technology and implement innovative solutions;

Produces weekly progress report;

Develops and maintains overall project plan for responsible areas;

Develops technical standards, templates and guidelines;

Works with business users to meet or exceed software quality assurance needs;

Proactively communicates progress, issues and risks on team’s tasks;

Assesses need for new software quality assurance equipment, produce specifications and monitor use;

Serves as mentor and coach to other team members.

Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Required Qualification and Experience

MSc/BSc, Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, and related fields.

2/4 years of software development experience preferably in software quality assurance and testing experience
