Job PurposeThe purpose of this job is assist the Manager in divisional operations; advise Divisions on operational legal issues; investigate any breaches in compliance to the rules or directives or other relevant laws and review and forward investigation reports to the Secretary of the Business Conduct Committee (BCC); ensure compliance to the Rules of the Exchange; conducts legal research and analysis regarding laws applicable to the Exchange that need introduction of new rules or amendment of the Rules of the Exchange; and produces periodic reports of the Division.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participates in the development and revision of policies, procedures, and manuals of the Division;
Conducts research and analysis regarding laws applicable to the Exchange to identify
issues that need introduction of new rules or amendment of the Rules; drafts Rules of the
Exchange, operational contracts and presents it to appropriate bodies for approval;
Provides legal consultations, comments, advices and interpretation on issues related to
the Rules of the Exchange and other pertinent laws applicable to
the Exchange operation to different Departments/Divisions of the Exchange.;
Oversees compliance with relevant laws, rules of the Exchange; follow up enforcement
of the BCC disciplinary measures and reviews and forward the reports to the Secretary of the BCC;
Prepares investigation report regarding Rules violation and prepare responses to appeal
made by members, clients of intermediary members or floor representatives.
Facilitates the awareness creation programs to members, employees of the Exchange and
other stakeholders concerning Rules of the Exchange and other pertinent laws applicable
on the Exchange;
Reviews internal agreements and procedures, including those between warehouse
operators, clearing institutions, members and clients, to determine legality and
compatibility with rules and regulations governing the Exchange;
Prepares periodic reports concerning the activities of the Division; and
Performs other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience
LLM/LLB
4/6 years of relevant work experience in judiciary, prosecution, legal advisory or related areas.
