Job Description

Tree Aid works with communities to grow food and incomes, tackling poverty today. We help them to restore the environment and combat the climate crisis for the future.

Since 1987, we have worked with communities in the Sahel to restore over 160,000 hectares of land and grow over 24 million trees. Tree Aid has opened a country programme office in Ethiopia and is implementing projects in partnership with national NGOs and other government institutions.

Tree Aid Ethiopia would like to employ an M&E officer for its project in the Metema area.
Work Base: West Gonder zone, Metema

Employment Type: Full time

Availability: As Soon As Possible

Duration of employment: one year with the possibility of extension based on performance

Immediate Supervisor: Country Programme Manager, Ethiopia

Working with: Implementing partner project delivery team in Metema and other project partners

Job Requirements

Qualification:

Master degree in rural development, forestry, environmental management, statistics, Agricultural economics, or other social/developmental sciences

At least 5 years of proven experience in the

Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Accountability of development programs

Required Skills & Competencies

Fluency in English (both written and spoken skills)

Professional, motivated, open, creative, responsible, flexible, and culturally sensitive

Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills

Proven ability to translate

evaluated results into learning strategies

Demonstrated knowledge of M&E concepts

Experience designing tools and strategies for data collection, data processing, analysis, performance monitoring and the production of impact reports/periodic activity reports

Previous experience in forest management, food security, and livelihoods programming.

Previous experience working on PFM (Participatory Forest Management) and NTFP (Non Timber Forest Products) enterprise groups

Experience with mobile data collection processes and platforms (i.e. ODK and ONA)

Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Delivery

Quarterly projects reports and summary of key performance indicator

Baseline and end-line evaluations and survey reports, database update and reports

Beneficiary data and group capacity update reports

Post trainings and distribution monitoring and reports

Periodic donor reports

Program quality and routine monitoring reports
Learning documents and case stories
