Job DescriptionCompany OverviewEthio-Asia is Ethiopia’s first privately owned manufacturer of personal care products and the only native manufacturer with a nationally recognized brand.
Ethio-Asian Industries SC, formerly known as East Africa Kality Soap and Detergent factory, is located at Eastern part of Addis Ababa, Kaliti. It is the first private sector soap and detergent factory established by well-known industrialist and EAHSC chairman Mr. Bizuayehu Tadele to manufacture Laundry soaps, Detergents and Toilet soaps.
Ethio-Asia made partnership agreement with Zoscales Partners (ZP) to meet its objective of becoming strong player within the personal care space by aspiring the right niche market of the lower and middle-income class of Ethiopia. Given the continued growth and future expansion of TIRET, the following opportunity exist.
Job PurposeManage all Procurement activities within the business including, Foreign & Local sourcing & procurement, Scheduling, supplier sourcing, engagement & development and budgetary control.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesDeveloping procurement strategyDevelops and implements procurement strategy for purchasing management to ensure procurement needs of functional units are satisfied in full, on time, within budget and to the agreed quality.
Develops long-term mutually beneficial relationships with a core number of key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, best quality and keenest prices.
In collaboration with leadership team and other functional managers, plan and schedule annual purchases to ensure consistent and sufficient supply of materials and services are available.
As middle level management member, contribute to overall Company strategic planning and development
Day- to- day purchasing function and monitoring
Monitors and evaluates effective implementation of Company Procurement policies and procedure.
Conducts market research on a periodic basis to identify potential sources of suppliers for each of the items purchased by the company
Ensures that suppliers’ database is maintained properly and updated regularly.
Ensure that requirements (specifications) are developed as complete and accurate as possible
Coordinates and supervises the preparation and sale (distribution) of tender document for the procurement of equipment, machineries and other supplies and accordingly invite bidders, and evaluate offers; ensure all bidding processes adhere to Company Procurement Policies and procedures.
Conduct supplier evaluation process
Negotiates for best purchasing package (in terms of quality, price, term, delivery and service) with suppliers and sub-contractors assigned.
Manages Purchasing function to ensure materials are purchased cost effectively and available for production when required.
Ensures all competent quality execution of all regular purchasing duties and administrative works
Keeps complete updated purchasing records/data (including
list of current and potential suppliers) and pricing are available.
Coordinates with user functional units in the purchasing scope of different materials.
Collaborates with Production, Quality, Technique and Sales teams to identify or qualify new suppliers.
Handling and monitoring of claims to suppliers and vendors for defectives, shortage, and missing parts.
Liaises with commercial banks, insurance companies, customs, Ethiopian Shipping Lines and other concerned Government Agencies, in matters related to import of goods, payment modalities, tax issues, shipment, etc.
Makes close follow up of the status of overseas orders.
Monitors and coordinates deliveries of items between suppliers (Local and overseas).
Monitors supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
Manages contracts arising from procurement decisions to the best advantage of EAI
Ensure that suppliers are evaluated on a periodic basis
Produces procurement related reports based on the guidelines presented in the company’s Procurement Management Manual.
Job Requirements
Qualification
BA/MA degree in procurement and supply chain management, Logistics and Supply Chain, Business Management, Business Administration or Accounting and related fields
Experience
A minimum of 8/6 years FMCG experience of which 3 years are at managerial position.
Competencies

Capable enough to pass decision with respect to the organization’s rules & regulations
Able to make continuation of the Company’s Vision & strategic plan
Able to understand the procurement principles for the above job position & bring business success to the company

Microsoft application (word, excel, PPT) working skill
ERP knowledge
Proficient communication skill

Ability to work under fast paced environment
Ability to work under pressure
Experience working with banks in raising foreign currency
