Job description EY Cova is a SANAS accredited inspection body for Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for buildings. Our accreditation allows us to performance inspections of commercial buildings to issue such certificates. We are recruiting an energy performance assessor to fulfil this role.
You will be required to meet with clients, conduct site inspections, analyse information and data, and review supporting documents required for EPCs. You will gain valuable experience and insights in inspection, as well as other energy related incentives and sustainability related services.
Key responsibilities
The role includes the following:
Performing laid down inspection and verification procedures at client sites with respect to energy usage, building operations and validating data.
Liaison with clients and representatives for information, site inspections and general communication.
Captures data on relevant software and presents reports and recommendations for review and approval.
Attends to queries and escalates risks and feedback to Technical Manager and/or Lead Assessor.

To qualify for the role, you must have
Minimum Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
2 Years’ experience in energy related field.
Experience in energy auditing and/or measurement and verification.
Experience working with data (Excel).
Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
A Certified Energy Auditor or Certified Measurement & Verification Professional qualification and knowledge of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) verification will be a plus.
Certification with Green Building Council of South Africa as an accredited professional (AP) will be a plus.
