The opportunity
Technology Consulting business is a fast-growing sub-service line within EY’s Consulting service line. A dynamic group focused on providing high value independent, trusted advice to clients, with a focus on transformation programmes.
The Technology Transformation domain works with clients in creating value and delivering world-class IT capabilities to support business needs. Working closely with our industry groups and leveraging the EY brand as independent, trusted advisors, we provide our high-profile clients with a range of services including:
IT Strategy and Sourcing Advisory
Enterprise Architecture Services
Digital Transformation (including Cloud, Analytics, Cyber, Mobility, Social Media, Internet of Things, etc.)
IT Operating Model Design, IT Functions Transformation & IT Governance.
Your key responsibilities
This is a leadership role guiding clients on their IT vision, strategy, architecture and cloud transformation roadmap as they embark on and build their cloud journey. Most of your time will be spent embedded with our clients’ team and we’ll look to you to provide them with a unique business perspective on how they must continue to innovate and remain competitive with cloud technologies in this ever-changing industry.
Skills and attributes for success
Build long-term relationships with key client decision makers which are based on mutual respect; act as a trusted advisor to key decision makers.
Engage customers to gain trusted-advisor status with the CIO / CTO and other CXO-level executives of large enterprises in South Africa and offer innovative services around Cloud Architecture, Enterprise Application Landscape Architecture and Optimization, Infrastructure Reengineering and overall optimization and enhanced realization of ROI on IT investments.
Be a thought leader on Enterprise IT adoption/ strategies and on adoption of state of the art technology trends and emerging design patterns. Should be able to represent the firm in leading conferences/forums on Information Technology issues and trends.
Anticipate clients’
Technology needs well beyond current engagements, adding value to the clients’ long-term business. Advise on establishing a cloud operating model including setting up a customer CoE, cloud operations, change management and governance.
To qualify for the role, you must have
Bachelor's degree ideally in technology (Business with MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems)
Proven track record of successful delivery of large engagements in area of Technology Transformation.
Experience in building, leading and coaching teams in order to achieve business objectives.
Ability to provide strategic leadership; with good decision-making, planning and organizational skills.
Substantial experience in technology leadership roles at a consulting/professional services company, cloud provider or customer environment in Enterprise solutions.
Extensive experience of IT strategy and Enterprise Architecture and most recently in context of migrations to hybrid and public cloud.
Experience using frameworks/methodologies to assess and recommend application migration approaches and cloud platform options.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Results orientated and performance driven approach.
Relevant Enterprise Architecture Certifications in TOGAF, ITIL or similar.
Relevant cloud Certifications with a major cloud provider such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Google Professional Cloud Architect.
Experience in governance and people/skills/ culture change management associated with a typical cloud transformation project.
Leading and inspiring teams (directly or indirectly) on key technologies and best practices.
Engagement with Enterprise customers across multiple countries and industries in a broader region responsibility.
