Job Grade Erc 6

Reporting to Principal Electricity Officer (Meters and Metering) the successful candidate willwork under the supervision and a senior officer and will assist in developing regulations and standards for meters and metering and examining and approving meters used or intended to be used for ascertaining the quantity of energy in collaboration with the Kenya Bureau of Stand.. (KEBS).

Responsibilities

  • Regulating the supply and use of electrical energy including metering and billing in coordination with other statutory bodies and agencies;
  • Undertaking research on, and develop regulations and standards for meters and metering;
  • Conducting technical audits in consumer metering, billing and preparing technical reports;
  • Developing and maintaining records of all type of electrical meters in use;
  • Preparing timely and accurate reports on compliance and inspection metering and billing;
  • Participating in designated Committees; and
    Preparing of work plans and budge..

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following Engineering fields; Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Graduate Membership of the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) in good standing,
  • Proficiency in Computer applications skills;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Good Communication and reporting skills; and
  • Team Player

    Other Requirements

    Shortlisted candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and provide:

  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations;
  • Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (-IELB);
  • Tax compliance Certificate from
    Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
  • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
  • Report from an Approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

    Terms of Employment

  • The positions of Pricing Analyst, Electricity Officer (Meters & Metering) and Electricity Officer (Consumer Installations) will be filled on permanent and pensionable terms of service. The rest of the positions will be on contract terms of service.
