EnerGrow Credit Officer Jobs in Uganda

About the Role

EnerGrow is conducting a pilot financing project for women led businesses in Mbale District to identify opportunities and inform its program methodology.

Their aim is to grow sustainable, productive business that can increase electricity demand in Uganda in the long run.

The Credit Officer is responsible for assessing loan clients and maintaining a quality loan portfolio.

This type of lending is unique and requires a person who is strict on fully investigating a potential client’s creditworthiness and stays in constant contact with the customers.

The specific tasks of this role include:

Evaluate the credit worthiness of individuals

Assist Sales Executives with identifying beneficiaries/individuals for asset loans
Recommend credit worthiness to Project Manager
Manage customer repayments alongside sales and recovery officers and follow up closely with customers that miss payments

Ensure that application and loan tracking information is entered into loan database daily

Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through a high level of contact with clients through personal visits, calls, and SMS.

Job Requirements

Degree holder with preference to those with a background in business related studies

3+ years of work experience with asset-based lending

Ability to work independently

High level of integrity

Fluency in English and Lugisu/Lumasaba
Strong skills MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Strong oral, written and verbal communications skills

Commitment to excellence, outstanding work ethic, and attention to detail

Resourcefulness and creative problem solving

Strong interpersonal skills in a cross-cultural environment.

Knowledge of investigation and evidence gathering techniques.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
