Function

  • Enabel, the Belgian development agency, with funding from the European Union is implementing a project on Climate change and Forestry management.

  • In this framework, Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit ONE (1) Intervention Officer-Natural Resources.

    Major Responsibilities

    Result Area 1: Collaborator of the Intervention:

  • Planning

  • Execution

  • Monitoring and Evaluation

    Result Area 3: Quality Assurance and Knowledge Management:

    Minimum Profile

  • A Master’s Degree in Natural Resources, Forestry, Climate and Energy Management;

  • At least 7 years of proven relevant experience in Climate and Forestry Management;

  • Proven experience in working with district official in the Natural Resources department;

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with Local Government officials and other actors in the region e.g. CSOs, Government Refugee Agencies, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidimensional stakeholders

  • Understanding of the complexity of the relationship between refugees and host communities

  • Demonstrated ability to develop guidelines and tools in any of the fields of forestry, climate, and energy

  • Demonstrated ability to work with local communities and small-scale forest-based enterprises

  • An understanding of the practical connection of natural resources and energy, especially as it applies to local communities

  • Ability to work with the common computer programmes (word, excel, PowerPoint

  • Strong communication, reporting, negotiating and networking skills;

  • Experience in managing international co-operation programmes is an asset.
