EMRI Laboratory Analyst Jobs in Homa Bay - Kenya

Key Responsibilities:

Development of laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Preparation of laboratory reagents

Perform micronutrient testing amongst others using Immunoassays and ElIS techniques

Perform next generation sequencing (NGS) using nanopore technologies

Perform HRP2/3 gene deletions in Plasmodium falciparum using a novel multiplex bead-based assay (MBA) on MAGPIX® System

Validate and Implement CDC microbiologic folate testing protocol

Perform real-time PCR (qPCR) for infectious diseases on Applied Biosystems TaqMan Array Card (TAC) platform Implementing laboratory assays as per protocol and relevant SOPs

Vacancy Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Biotechnology or a related field from a recognized institution

Proficiency in the use of computers and electronic case report forms (eCRFs) for data collection

Evidence of Good Clinical and laboratory practice will be an added advantage Added Advantage

Strategic thinking and excellent organizational skills

Ability to work long hours including weekends and public holidays where necessary Skills & Competencies
