Job Purpose To manage and administer the electronic distribution of EK?s passenger fares and rules via all available electronic distribution channels to MARS, GDS/CRS, Emirates Online (EOL), other Internet and e-commerce channels and TRIPS on a selective basis and directly to EK?s commercial, corporate, Trade and staff customers. Abuse and mis-interpretation/application of fares and rules is mitigated through the controlled, automatic quoting, pricing and ticketing. Revenue and yield targets are supported and cost savings are achieved.
Job Outline:
Analyze and evaluate (Online and Interline) pricing circulars, IATA?s semi-annual global fare packages, Round the World, Circle trips and staff travel fares/products and organize them for electronic distribution to MARS, global GDS/CRS, Emirates Online (EOL), TRIPS and any other distribution channels as appropriate for each. This involves consultation with both Online / Interline pricing team due to its complexity and interpretation of rules.
Code (using bits and bytes) rules categories, (including negotiated fares - Cat 35, Automated re-issue - Cat 31) and fares in ATPCO (Airline Tariff Publishing Co), Worldspan - SecurateAir Plus, and electronically transmit to MARS, global GDS/CRS, Emirates Online (EOL), other Internet, e commerce channels and TRIPS. This requires coordination with vendors (ATPCO and GDS/CRS) at all time due to complexity of coding rules categories and system logics. Specifically with Galileo as most of the categories are coded manually in their system.
Update and monitor EK's reservation booking designators (RBD) in the ATPCO database to ensure accurate use and application when Trade and OAL customers are selling EK?s fares. RBD abuse/misuse is one of the single largest revenue diluters in the Industry and enforced automated control goes along way to mitigate the losses.
Perform quality control analyses on EK's fares and rules in MARS, the global GDS/CRS, EOL and any other channels through which EK?s fares are sold to ensure they are quoting, pricing and ticketing correctly. Raise Problem Ticket (PT) with various GDS/CRS, whenever discrepancies/ anomalies are found in their respective systems.
Assist
PDO in testing the new products and system enhancements that have been developed by ATPCO and Worldspan including IBE products.
Create, update and distribute electronically baggage allowance charges for both weight concept and piece concept to all EK end users worldwide.
Co-ordinate with Industry Tariff unit for introduction/revision of taxes and ensure the same are implemented and quoting correctly in all GDS/CRS as per the EK?s requirements.
Create and update online and interline rules in EK?s in house pricing system (FACTS) for use by the online and interline Pricing Managers, Superintendents, Officers and outstations pricing personnel when developing fare proposals.
Responsible for ensuring that the fares and rules in the FACTS (AFD) system mirror those held in the data bases of the other distribution companies, e.g., ATPCO, SITA, Worldspan, etc. and for correcting any discrepancies.
Qualifications & Experience
Commercial/Sales Pricing :
12 Years schooling or equivalent:
A or O Level? or equivalent, with minimum 4 years in airline industry of which 2 years has been in pricing. Experience Ability to work with FQT and electronic distribution systems, including coding fares and rules, with airline or a GDS/CRS or a distribution company such as ATPCO or SITA, Advanced PC skills, Superior commend of the English language, and significant knowledge and familiarity with the system pricing logic in the various GDS/CRS.
