ResponsibilitiesAssist the EGPAF UNITAID SI&E Officer to ensure regular, complete, accurate, timely and quality monitoring reports from health facilities (regions) on all required indicators;
Work closely with the EGPAF UNITAID SI&E Officer and project technical team to manage all data entry related activities;
Work with the Facility staff and Field Support Staff to ensure timely data collection and reporting to EGPAF Country Office;
Assist in basic analysis of data and provide timely feedback for decision making;
Assist and participate in DQA at supported facilities;
Assist and participate in targeted mentorship and supportive supervision on documentation and reporting at supported facilities;
Support monthly Regional data review meetings for supported facilities;
Participate to any other documentation process of project activities.
Qualifications
Bachelors in Biostatics, Health Information Management Systems, IT, Health Records and Information or related field from a recognized institution of higher learning and a certificate in M&E related courses
Minimum of 2 years’ experience on monitoring and evaluation and data management for a HIV program
Familiar with national HMIS and NASCOP EID system and reporting requirements
Experience in providing on site mentorship to health care workers on HMIS, cohort analysis and other SI related issues
Experience in providing support to EMR implementation at site level
Proficiency in computer packages for generating and analysis reports
Experience with managing and coordinating teams
Ability to work effectively in a busy, high pressure team environment
Ability to prioritize workload and demonstrate outcomes on strict deadlines
Commendable knowledge & skill in monitoring & evaluation activities
Strong analytical skills
Strong oral and written communications skills

Responsibilities
Ensure regular, complete, accurate, timely and quality monitoring reports from health facilities on all required indicators
Work closely with the EGPAF Project’s Strategic Information and Evaluation Advisor or his/her designate and project technical team to manage all data entry related activities and ensure maintenance of up to date project data bases including DATIM, EKMS, etc. as needed
Work with the Facility staff and County and Sub County Health Records and Information Officers to ensure timely data collection, collation and reporting into the DHIS
Oversee joint DQA with the County and Sub-County HRIOs at supported facilities
Conduct targeted mentorship and supportive supervision on documentation and reporting at supported facilities
Support EMR implementation within EGPAF facilities in collaboration with health informatics lead IP.
Support facilities to maintain up to date performance dashboards
Provide timely feedback to the County, Sub-county and facilities for decision making
Conduct monthly facility and sub-county data and performance review meetings for supported facilities
Represent the EGPAF at County/Sub-county Stakeholder and Technical Working Group meetings
Skills and Experience:

Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation Public Health Evaluation Officer Jobs in Kenya
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in protocol development.
Plan and coordinate the initiation of the studies.
Prepare research protocol for submission to ethical review board and address comments raised by ERC.
Maintain all required regulatory documentation for each active protocol.
Participate in development of necessary tools and resources including protocol implementation plan and SOPs to implement the studies.
Plan and coordinate translation of study tools as needed.
Plan, implement, and maintain data collection systems in collaboration with data management unit in support of the study.
Plan and coordinate recruitment of research assistants as appropriate to the study
Provide support for study-related training activities.
Support data collection, quality control and cleaning.
Monitor the progress of research activities; develop and maintain records of research activities, and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, as required.
Liaise with officials from the county and sub county health department during the study implementation as appropriate.
Liaise with the Public Health Evaluation Lead to provide supervisory oversight of project staff, as well as guidance and support for effective implementation.
Coordinate provision of study updates throughout implementation and dissemination of results at the end of the study.
Work closely with PIs or project managers to monitor project expenditures ensuring that they are in line with the budget.
Able to travel to various EGPAF offices on a need basis.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Studies, public health, Population Studies / Demography, Health Promotion or related field from a recognized institution
Masters degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
3-5 years proven experience working with operations research including community research
3-5 years of proven experience working with health programs in Kenya
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work well independently and within a team
Current knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS issues in the health sector
Understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and research ethics
A good understanding of protocol review process
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Fluency in English and Kiswahili
Ability to manage/coordinate data collection staff
Qualitative analysis skills would be an added advantage
