Internship Period: 11 Months
Purpose of the JobTo provide direction in matters relating to social and gender expertise to the Corporation.
Key Responsibilities for the Position
1. Working with members of ESCOM to develop capacity on gender and social inclusion issues to address substantive rights in the Constitution;
2. Coordinate with women’s organizations, other marginalised groups and relevant organisations, to facilitate their continued engagement in the Constitution making process;
3. Provide technical guidance to national women’s organizations, commissions and government institutions to set common agendas on women’s rights implementation;
4. Organize and manage dialogue and interaction workshops on gender and social inclusion agendas and issues related to the new Constitution;
5. Facilitate capacity building activities with women leaders at the local level to enhance their political role and representation at the national and subnational levels in order to ensure women’s rights implementation
6. Implement and mainstream gender and social inclusion programmes and initiatives together with the other thematic areas of the project;
7. Provide inputs to gender and inclusive annual work plan, monitor actions and draft quarterly and annual reports on gender and inclusion related activities;
8. Provide advice to International Project Manager on gender and social inclusion issues and agendas.
9. Design and implement capacity development initiatives in relation to gender and social inclusion;
10. Draft thematic briefing papers
on gender and social inclusion to keep stakeholders informed;
11. Ensure women and other excluded groups’ meaningful participation in project activities. Ensure the collection of desegregated data for project reporting;
12. Act as gender and social inclusion focal point for the project.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• The ideal candidate should have a minimum qualification of a First Degree e.g Social Sciences, HR, Theology, Business Administration, Philosophy, Development studies, political science or related fields;
• Those with practical experience will have an added advantage.
