Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi Distribution Construction Engineer Intern Jobs

Supervised by: Distribution Construction Engineer

Internship Period: 11 Months

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure effective planning, construction and maintenance of distribution and supply network and related infrastructure by properly managing and optimising the construction and maintenance resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist in planning and leading implementation of construction, operations and maintenance, as well as revenue protections plans and programmes in line with Corporation’s goals, policies and standards.
2. Assist in planning and controlling electricity outages in the zone.
3. Monitoring, inspecting and certifying contracted out construction works.
4. Providing specifications and quantities of the needed maintenance materials for procurement purposes.
5. Mobilizing and organizing personnel for scheduled construction and maintenance work.
6. Performing and organizing regular inspection of the distribution network and equipment to identify potential failures or defects.
7. Facilitating proper tests of equipment before installation and re-installation
8. Assisting in developing and reviewing construction and maintenance policies and programmes.
9. Participating in carrying out construction and maintenance works when need arises.
10. Responding to queries on matters related to electricity distribution and supply.
11. Monitoring to ensure quality customer services activities in the zone in line with

the Customer Service Charter.
12. Preparing periodic reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• The ideal candidate must have a minimum qualification of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Those with experience in power supply business will have an added advantage
