Kwale International Sugar Company Limited is seeking a highly qualified and suitable candidate in the following position.

Reports To:

Shift Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

Install, service, repair wiring, conduits, fixtures and other electrical devices, systems and monitor to ensure for continued operational functionality.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand and power tools.

Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components.

Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with codes.

Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous and recommend appropriate action for consideration.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuit in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters or oscilloscopes, to ensure that all are compatible.

Plan layout distribution of electrical wires, equipment and fixtures based on the job specializations and local scenes.

Advise company on electrical supplies and the efficacy of parts and components during purchase.

Maintain electrician license or identification to

meet government regulatory requirements.

Inspect on daily basis and identify malfunctions of any electrical part, equipment or system and report to the supervisor promptly for corrective action.

Maintain a record of all the works completed so as to facilitate accounting activities.

Perform routine maintenance and repair of the electrical system and equipment.

Clean equipment used and keep the work area clean.

Any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Person Specifications

Academic Qualifications

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Professional Qualifications

Registration with Electricity Board.

Experience

3 to 4 years’ work experience
