EGPAF NGO Project Officer - Retention, Adherence & Linkages Jobs in Kenya
Reporting to the County Service Delivery Advisor, the RAL Project Officer will support the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Retention, adherence, psychosocial support, community involvement, PHDP and stigma reduction activities required for HIV care and treatment and PMTCT services within EGPAF supported facilities in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlans, coordinates and oversees the implementation of high quality comprehensive patient-centered demand creation, adherence and retention activities including establishment of functional multidisciplinary adherence support teams at each supported site.
Oversees compliance to facility level adherence and psychosocial support Standard Operating Procedures (MOH and project specific) for Peer Educators work, Mentor mothers, Community linkages and defaulter tracing within EGPAF supported sites
Conducts capacity building of facility based adherence support multidisciplinary teams, which will include HCW, PE, mentor mothers in provision of stigma free services, which include HIV treatment literacy, adherence monitoring and psychosocial support with emphasis on EGPAF/MOH specific approach.
Ensure the development of structured approaches within age- specific patient focused adherence clubs to deliver treatment literacy, PHDP interventions and address psychosocial and environmental barriers to optimal adherence.
Ensures effective patient appointment systems and active client follow up mechanisms at each EGPAF supported facility through adoption and use of relevant job aids and data collection tools as per client retention and defaulter tracing SOPs
Oversee the implementation and documentation of targeted and comprehensive adherence sessions for clients who are suspected for treatment failure (STF)
Ensure optimal implementation and documentation of PHDP interventions and treatment literacy activities at each supported site
Guide development and maintenance of updated referral directories to strengthen community-partnerships and networking activities in collaboration with Community Prevention team in EGPAF supported sites.
Identify best practices , document, recommend, implement and disseminate effective
and innovative approaches to adherence , client retention, defaulter tracing , community - facility linkage and stigma reduction at each supported site
Provides technical assistance to health care facilities for planning, implementation and evaluation of patient tracing and retention systems and related data management, data quality assurance, data summarization and analysis
Required qualifications
Degree in Clinical Psychology, Social sciences; Community development, Counselling psychology or equivalent
Three (3) years project management experience working in demand creation, adherence counselling, psychosocial support and community linkages in HIV care and treatment/PMTCT.
Master’s degree will be an added advantage
Required competencies, skills and experience
Familiarity with the Kenya Health system including Community Health Strategy, NASCOP HIV program implementation and documentation.
Possess adequate facilitation, mentoring and counseling skills.
Familiarity with HIV community programs and facility retention programs including peer education.
Knowledge of PEPFAR Program and NASCOP reporting requirements including familiarity with the data collection and reporting tools used by NASCOP
Candidates should possess good organization skills, written/verbal communication skills and capable of working in a team.
Proficient Computer skills (Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Power Point)
