Job DescriptionEdukans is an international NGO with headquarters in Amersfoort, the Netherlands and a local office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We specialise in providing marginalised children and youth around the world with basic education and vocational trainings.
We focus on four key themes: quality primary education, youth at work, education in emergencies, and equal opportunities for boys and girls.
Purpose of the PositionThe successful candidate will be responsible for Cash Management and Office Administration duties including store management. S/he will report directly to the Finance and Administration Manager (FAM).
Key ResponsibilitiesCashier Maintains the petty cash fund and checks;
Disburses authorized payments from petty cash fund or check;
Receives cash or check against cash receipt vouchers (CRVs) and makes deposit to the organization’s account;
Collects monthly bank statements and advices;
Makes scheduled payments of Income Tax, Withholding Tax and other government obligations;
Administration & Store Management
Filing and data entry, arranging letters, memoranda, invoices and other index documents according to an established filing
system;
Records incoming and outgoing mails and distributes to appropriate persons;
Monitors office operations and ensures office equipment are functioning, initiate & oversee maintenance when needed;
Verifies supplies received are listed on requisitions and invoices and receives, stores, and issues supplies and equipment and compiles records of supply transactions through GRNs and INs;
Produces quarterly store status report and monitors minimum stock levels
Facilitates annual inventory taking for consumables and fixed asset located at field offices;
Job Requirements
Skills and experience:
BA degree in Accounting/ Office Administration
2 years of NGO/INGO experience in the capacity of cash management
Excellent organizational skills, ability to determine priorities and attention to detail is a must.
Willingness to work in the field and travel when needed.
Ability to use various computer software such as Microsoft Office Products
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in clear & informative written communication
