Education Service Commission Principal Education Officer - Guidance and Counselling Jobs in Uganda
Minimum Qualifications and Working ExperienceA Bachelor’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling or Psychology or social work plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Education or A Bachelor’s degree in
Education plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Guidance and Counseling or Social Work;
Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports;
At least six (6) years working experience, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Senior Officer in the field Guidance and Counselling.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for the coordination of parents, community leaders and community social workers on matters related to the welfare of pupils and
their social wealth;
Initiate, implement and monitor programs to support OVCs, child heads of families in their education endeavors;
Conduct parental education and any other relevant programs for the welfare of children, parents and guardians;
Liaise with the Ministry responsible for Children Affairs and other Government Ministries/Departments/Agencies in formulation of policies and programs/plans for school social work activities;
Undertakes any other duties assigned by the Assistant Commissioner.

The ESC Form 3 (1998) is obtainable from the Education Service Commission Offices 1st floor Farmers’ House, Parliament Avenue Kampala or Ministry of Education and Sports Headquarters or District Service Commission offices &
the Commission Website: www.esc.go.ug.
Applications should bear the title of the post as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy.
Applicants should attach photocopies of Academic Certificates and Transcripts plus three recent passports size photograph Serving Officers should attach appointment and confirmation letters and recent pay slips.
Qualifications from only recognized institutions will be considered.
Serving officers Must route their applications through their Heads of Institutions/Departments, who should be advised of the closing date to avoid
delays.
