Education Development Trust Research and Insight Officer Jobs in Kenya
To lead and co-ordinate the Sub Saharan Africa’s (SSA) team inputs to a research collaboration between the SSA and R&C teams
Responsibilities:Act as the key liaison point between the Girls Edication Challenge Transition (GEC T) – Kenya Wasichana Wetu Wafaulu, Building Learning Foundation (BLF) - Rwanda projects and R&C
teams, ensuring the smooth progression of the research collaboration on time and to budget
Lead project planning and management of all inputs required from the SSA teams, with a
particular emphasis on liaising with the programme teams to ensure research design builds on existing monitoring and evaluation cycles
Support the technical design of new research methodologies, tools and data collection plans, to ensure valid and reliable responses to our research questions
Ensure coherence between the research design and data collection plans across the BLF
project and GEC T teams, to drive efficiencies and ensure high quality research outcomes
Manage and co-ordinate field logistics for the delivery of primary research
Conduct analysis and reporting of programme data to support research design and analysis
Conduct ongoing analysis of programme data to draw out insights for use in marketing and
client-facing thought leadership, including wider topics of interest to clients, Ed Dev Trust’s R&C team, and the local programme teams
Manage the set up and management of external partnerships in the research, including managing stakeholder queries and communications

Knowledge:
Essential
Bachelor’s in social science, Statistics or relevant areas of discipline.

Experience:
4-5 years minimum post qualifying relevant experience preferably in the NGO sector;
Experience of designing research methodologies and tools, ideally in a programming context in SSA
Experience of conducting research, including co-ordinating others – and ideally including training field officers
Ability to analyse and manipulate quantitative data
Ability to draw out key messages and insights from complex data
Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaborative outcomes
Skills:

Proficient and accurate report writer.
