Educate!, a fast growing, non-profit social enterprise, is seeking to hire talented, influential and enthusiastic individual to fill the Head of National Programs position, as we move towards our vision for 2024 of reaching one million youth annually across ten countries in Sub Saharan Africa.
The Head of National programs will support the Deputy Country Director in developing the government partnership strategy, national programs oversight, and policy and partnership development important to the alignment of the Educate! Model to the government policies, structures and reforms. This will encompass aligning Educate! Model to government systems.
Responsibilities
Donor Relationship Management
Editing and overseeing the production of high-quality grant reports and proposals that align to stakeholder interests and effectively communicate Educate!’s impact
Support with key relationship management functions, including managing follow-ups of requested materials and responses to inquiries, to maintain positive relationships with donors and partners.
Build and strengthen systems and processes for donor engagement and relationship management to drive us toward our ambitious fundraising goals.
Represent Educate! at donor and partner meetings and other external meetings, including conferences and special events, as needed, to build our reputation, and establish relationships with new funders and partners.
Donor and Partner Visit
Design, coordinate, and prepare for donor and partner visits across our countries of operation to ensure that programmed activities run smoothly
Represent Educate! in person and over email to international donors and partners
Lead engaging and informative site and field visits for international donors and partners visiting the program
Rockstar Coach & Manager
Manage two members of Educate!’s growing East Africa External Relations team
Provide ongoing coaching to direct reports and support them in building skills to align with their professional development goals
Provide direct reports with ongoing feedback, and bi-annual performance
reviews
Motivate and inspire your team to achieve its goals, moving us closer to our vision of impacting millions of youth in Africa each year
Team Support
Collaborating with the Business Development Manager on new revenue strategy, research, or sales tactics
Supporting East Africa based teamwork with key messaging and engagement strategy for conferences.
Requirements
Self-motivated with a strong sense of professional judgment and accountability: you’ll be a point person for some of our most critical investors and partners
Organized and detail-oriented with an unwavering commitment to follow-through: once something is on your plate, you own it and are proactive about asking for help when you need it
An exceptional communicator and relationship-builder in diverse settings, from a classroom to a conference room
A strong writer who can be the final eye on reports, proposals, and other high-stakes external documents

3+ years of work experience and at least 1 year of management experience, with more experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree (related area not necessary)
Strong proficiency in spoken and written English
