Our client is a Society set apart for the care, protection, welfare, and adoption of children. The Society wishes to seek qualified and dedicated candidates for the position above to improve its mandate for Emergency Response, and Welfare and Rescue Organizations for children at a national level.

General Duties

An officer at this level will be responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for direction in the economic planning function and production of statistical data in the organization; assisting in preparation of strategies; policies, Budget, Performance Contracting and Programmes; Monitoring and evaluation of policies and Programmes; coordination of all various planning activities of professionals and supporting staff in the organization.

Specific duties include:

Headship of planning unit in the organization;

Assist in preparing and delivering budgetary information to the Chief Executive Officer and the finance committee;

Assist in budget planning, preparation, and implementation in the organization;

Assist in formulation of strategies, policies, and Programmes, in the organizationMonitoring and evaluation of policies and Programmes;

Advising the organization on economic decisions;

Lead in negotiations and evaluation of performance Contracting;

Monitoring achievement of targets and aligning performance targets to the reviewed strategic plan

Preparing the quarterly and annual reports on Performance Contracting (PC)Supervising and coordinating the activities of staff under him/her; andany other relevant duty that may be assigned

from time to time

Requirements for appointment:

For appointment to the grade of an Economist, an Officer must have;

Served in Public Service as an Economist for at least 10 years, of which three (3) years must be at a senior position;

Have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics or its equivalent from a recognized university

Fully conversant with the budget process and fiscal analysis;

Fully conversant with Performance Contracting processes;

Be a strategic thinker with very good performance track record;

Demonstrated outstanding professional competence;

Proficiency in computer applications;

Key Competences
