Knowledge, Skills & Competences
Experience with computerized finance and accounting packages.
Evidence of demonstrable knowledge of modern financial management systems
Deep knowledge of risk management .
Computer literacy.
Strong team building, communication and interpersonal relations skills.
Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
To oversee the development and implementation of internal audit systems, policies and plans in accordance with legal provisions and professional frameworks of best practice.
Key Result Areas:
Developing, reviewing and overseeing implementation of internal audit policies and procedures in line with legal and regulatory frameworks, and corporate strategic objectives.
Developing, reviewing, and overseeing implementation of periodic and ad hoc internal audit plans in line with legal and regulatory frameworks and corporate objectives.
Developing and overseeing implementation of annual and periodic internal audit departmental budgets in line with the Financial and Accounting Procedures.
Developing, reviewing, and overseeing implementation of the corporate risk management and internal control strategy in accordance with professional frameworks
of best practice.
Overseeing on-going assessment of corporate operational efficiency and effectiveness in line with company strategic objectives and best practices.
Overseeing the process of assessing, reviewing, and monitoring compliance to legal and regulatory requirements in line with compliance procedures.
Developing and implementing staff capacity building initiatives in line with corporate strategic objectives and the HR Manual.
Overseeing the deployment, supervision and appraisal of staff in the department in accordance with the Human Resource Manual.
Coordinating the annual external audit exercise in line with best practices.
Overseeing the preparation and submission periodic and ad hoc internal audit departmental reports in line with corporate reporting procedures.
Qualifications
An honors degree in Commerce or Business Administration or Accounting or related discipline and a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CISA, CIA, CFSA is also must.
Details of Experience
A minimum of five (5) years working experience two (2) of which should have been at supervisory/managerial level attained in a reputable company.
