Knowledge, Skills & Competences
Excellent knowledge of HR management best practices including organizational development
Sound knowledge of local labour laws and ability to understand and interpret legislative and policy issues
Good coaching and mentoring skills
Ability to use MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, HRIS-Human Resources Information System.
Sound knowledge of manufacturing shall be an added advantage
Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
To oversee the development and implementation of human resource and organisational development (OD) plans, systems and policies in accordance with company strategic goals and best practices.
Key Result Areas;
Developing/reviewing and overseeing implementation of HR Manual in line with legal provisions and best practices.
Periodically reviewing and updating the organisational structures and job descriptions in line with corporate strategic goals.
Developing and overseeing implementation of annual and periodic recruitment, selection and induction plans in line with corporate strategic objectives and HR Manual.
Developing and overseeing implementation of annual and periodic staff training, development and succession plans in accordance with corporate plans and HR Manual.
Reviewing and overseeing implementation
of the compensation and reward strategy in line with corporate strategic objectives.
Reviewing and overseeing implementation of the company performance management system in line with the HR Manual.
Developing and maintaining the registry and the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) in line with HR Manual and ICT standards.
Overseeing labour relations, discipline and grievance handling, and employee separations in line with the HR Manual.
Reviewing and monitoring implementation of occupational health and safety strategy in line with the HR Manual.
Developing and overseeing implementation of annual and periodic HR budgets in line with HR plans and the Finance and Accounting Procedures.
Overseeing the deployment, supervision and appraisal of staff in the department in accordance with the Human Resource Manual.
Preparing and submitting annual and periodic HR departmental reports in line with corporate reporting guidelines.
Qualifications
An honors degree in Human Resource Management plus a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration (HR option) or related discipline.
Details of Experience
A minimum of five (5) years working experience two (2) of which should have been at supervisory/managerial level attained in a reputable company.
