Job descriptionEACHRights is seeking a video editor to edit raw footage and audio from fieldwork as well as create a graphical opening sequence to precede all multimedia work in future.
Videos are not only a great marketing tool for an organisation but also bring an organization’s impact to life by increasing awareness and communicating with different target audiences.
TasksThe video editor will be responsible for the following tasks:
Cutting and editing 2 full-length videos into 15-minute segments.
Inserting subtitles in English where the subject has used Kiswahili.
Combining the two videos into a mini-documentary with excellent transitions.
Linking and combining audios recorded separately to each footage.
Recording and inserting voice-overs in some segments of the video.
Submit edited video into a virtual folder containing final video footages.
Ensure delivery of all the end products that meet the deadlines as specified.
Cutting 10 video segments for use on social media and the web as teasers.
Organize a virtual folder containing edited subtitled videos with transcriptions.
NB: Not all footage will require subtitles since some subjects/interviewees spoke in English.
Minimum Requirements and Competences
Experience in editing videos and inserting subtitles, as well as linking the video with audio recorded separately.
Ability to implement high-end graphic design, video editing and audio editing.
Knowledge of different video formats and video file conversions
Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
Proficient in using Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere editing software.
Proficient in using Apple Motion or
Adobe After Effects software.
Deliverables
A mini-documentary comprising of:
An opening sequence
6 interviews
8 b-rolls
Video embedded with subtitles where necessary
Smooth transitions
Two 15 minutes’ footage comprising of:
Opening sequence
5 interviews (each)
B-rolls where necessary
Voice Over as directed by EACHRights
An opening sequence
The editor must apply a lot of creativity with the use of sound/audio and a lot of motion graphic design.
Supervision
The Consultant is expected to be self-motivated and able to work independently. Supervision and support will be provided by the CEO, Senior Management Team with support from the Communications Assistant who will also provide a general overview of the work and relevant background with documents and footage.
