Job DescriptionEast Africa Specialized Engineering, PLC is a subsidiary of Africa Specialized Engineering, B.V., a Netherlands based engineering firm specializing in providing unique and tailor-made construction solutions that optimize existing and new construction projects.
Job Title: Project Coordinator
Job Summarycoordinate between clients, the design and Operations Departments to ensure that the client is receiving requested services on time.
Key Duties and responsibilities Meet with contractors and consultants as needed and in order to collect the latest technical info, coordinated drawings and all relevant information to forward to the designer.
Prepare minutes of meetings (internal/external) and forward them to all concerned parties.
Liaise with CCL coordination department on all pertinent information and drawings.
Follow up with the Designer for design related issues
Prepare RFIs and send them to the concerned parties
Stay current on the project’s site and design status.
Check the PT rate as documented by the designer before forwarding the PT drawings to the client.
Highlight to the Projects Manager any deviation in the rates.
Prepare variation orders.
Check drawings for any issues regarding implementation on site.
Coordinate with the construction department as needed.
Assist in solving site problems and forward modifications to the design department to be implemented.
Assist in preparing responses to the consultant’s comments in coordination with the Designer.
Attend meetings with the Consultant or Contractor to solve design issues and/or to discuss
comments.
Check with accounting team regarding payment issues in order to evaluate if we have problems with the contractors.
For Tender projects
Follow up with contractors for any new project to quote.
Collect a soft copy from the contractors containing the required information regarding the new project.
File all received data as per the filing system
Check the received data for any missing information before forwarding it to the tender department. (Send RFIs when needed)
Check of drawing and accuracy of all data used.
Prioritize received projects for quotation.
Help the GM preparing the quotation (if needed)
Entertain inquiries/clarifications from clients concerning items mentioned in sent quotations.
Get the quotations approved by the GM before sending them to contractors.
Contact Contractors for quoted projects and follow quotation status.
Follow job in hand projects status with contractors.
Contact client for job in hand projects.
Keep following up job in hand projects till these are awarded.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and training required:
Experience:
2-5 years in coordination or concrete structure design.
Skills:
Fluent Communication Skills.
Good Organizational Skills.
Good Time Management Skills.
Good Stress Management Skills.
Team work player
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Auto CAD: Word, Excel.
Ability to learn engineering software
Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
Precision and accuracy in files and records keeping.
Special Requirements:
Availability to work overtime when required at last minute
Multitask, able to handle efficiently several unrelated tasks at the same time
