Summary:

Ensuring Customer Satisfaction in our service delivery by performing the following duties personally:-

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities’ include the following:

  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction at all times;
  • Ensure ALL Delivery Notes are signed and/or stamped;
  • Be respectful of the Traffic Police and/or NTSA Officials at all times;
  • Be sober at all times, and consumption of any Alcohol and/or ‘miraa’ is prohibited during working hours;
  • Drive carefully and report any accidents to the nearest police station;
  • Ensure UNAUTHORISED PERSONNEL are not carried within the vehicles
  • Care of the Vehicle and Consignment at all times
  • Accountable for fuel and hydraulic fluid allocations;
  • Damage to Tyres MUST be accounted for – carelessness or recklessness is unacceptable
  • Damage to Leaf Springs, Equalisers and Tipper Doors MUST be accounted for – carrying overweight or carelessness in unacceptable
  • Ensure consignment being carried is within legal limits;
  • Ensure vehicle is insured, inspected and has an active speed governor;
  • Ensure that any defects on the vehicle are reported to the Operations Supervisor at the point of handover; and
  • Keep working environment clean and presentable at all times
  • Ensure there is minimal loss of product during transit (due to spillage) – accountable
  • Be in possession of a valid driver’s licence and an up-to-date good conduct certificate.

    Key Performance Challenges:

  • Consistently achieve the required Delivery Trips per day, as defined by the Company
  • Consistently adhere to normal working hours prescheduled on a SHIFT BASIS from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. or 7.00pm to 7.00am – Monday to Saturday of each week during which hours the Employee shall be allowed
    a one (1) hour interval for lunch at such times;
  • Consistently uphold the highest standards of best practice;
  • Consistently remain pro-active, presentable at all times and very driven; and
  • Consistently report to work on time and diligently maintain the vehicle in good working condition.

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:-

  • Five (5) years in Senior Driver Position, with demonstrated experience in the ability to handle SCANIA and/or FAW Tipper Trailers with high standards of service delivery;
  • Effective Communicator, with proven interpersonal skills;
  • Proven Driving Skills (BCE / Defence Driving / Good Conduct).
