DRC NGO Grants and Compliance Intern Jobs in Nairobi
The Grants and Compliance intern is responsible for supporting the regional grants and compliance staff on grants and compliance related matters.
Responsibilities: Assist in updating grant management system and running reports.
Conduct due diligence of suppliers and contractors against donors’ sanctions lists.
Support with data entry into the ERP System and GMS data migration and testing
Assist in bi-monthly review of Grants Management System to track pending installments and clear discrepancies
Dispatch and track donor and other correspondences.
Setting up and updating hard copy grant and working files and clearly labelled and organizing for ease of reference.
Assist in updating reports/ budgets/ proposals in specific donor online systems.
Regular follow up with COs ensure new projects are set up in the system on time and correctly
Follow up and coordinate submission of field reports to donors at Nairobi level
Assist in pre-audit planning and coordination of donor audits.
Work with compliance officer to monitor and track implementation of audit recommendations.
Assist in compiling and submission of finance documents to donors for payment purposes
Assist in filing donor grant documentation as per the operations handbook
Any other relevant task as may be assigned
Reporting Arrangements
The Grants and Compliance Intern will report to the Regional Grants Officer, with daily working contact with the Regional Compliance Officer

Qualifications and requirements
Education
At least Undergraduate degree in project management/ business administration, finance, accounting or CPA 2
Experience and technical competencies
At least 1 year experience in NGO sector
Able to work well both within a team and independently
Flexible and able to adapt quickly to new environment.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to determine priorities and meet multiple deadlines
Proven commitment to accountable practices.
Computer skills in MS Office packages and hands-on experience with data entry into online databases.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Working knowledge of French is an added advantage
