Job Description
Organization Background
Doctors with Africa CUAMM is an International NGO based in Italy and established with the aim of supporting Developing Countries in their effort to build up equitable, sustainable and accessible Health Systems.
The mission of the Organization is to reduce the excess of mortality, in developing and emergency context, caused by lack of effective health care and to contribute to improve health outcomes among the most vulnerable groups of the population.
Doctors with Africa CUAMM is working in Oromia Region, SNNP Region and Gambella Region.
The NGO is looking for ACCOUNTANT staff
Specific Activities:
Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with state financial legal requirements and donor/organization guidelines
Update daily the accounting software (Peach Tree and Lotus)
Prepare journal entries
Prepare vouchers, cheques, CPOs, transfer letters…
Prepare all the due documents for annual financial audit
Keep relationships with banks, suppliers and local authorities offices
Perform bank and cash reconciliations
Preparing tax (IT, WHT, pension) computations
Prepare
payrolls
Prepare severance payments
Support the senior finance officer in preparing all the documents needed for the audit process
Term of Employment:
Six (6) months with possible extension (45 days probation period)
Reports to
CUAMM Country Administrator
Job Requirements
Education Requirement:
Diploma and or Degree In Accounting
Minimum of two year experience
Required Competencies:
Fluent in English and Amharic
Perfect knowledge of Ethiopian accounting, taxation and labour rules/regulation
Relevant experience in Accounting
Relevant experience in using accounting software
Relevant experience in procurement procedures
Organizational and multi-tasking skills
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office 2010, Word and Excel Programs
