We are looking for motivated and qualified professionals to fill the position of Risk Analyst.
Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Risk Analyst is responsible for analysis of the financial costs of risk and uncertainty facing the organization and develop policies that minimize costs of risks.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Daily approval of new accidents reported.
Detailed review of incidents to ascertain liability according to the information contained in the investigations report.
Following up developments in traffic cases to protect the interests of the company by calling for outstanding evidence and analysis of the adequacy of the same.
Detailed review of claims to ascertain involvement, level of documentation, fraud assessment, exaggeration of aspects such as special damages, consistency with mode of injury i.e. RTA.
Thorough and detailed analysis of claim documents to enable early fraud detection and to effectively address the fraudulent claims within the company’s policies and guidelines.
Investigates and maintains basic claims
Reviews and evaluates coverage and liability.
Secures and analyses necessary information (i.e., necessary documentations) in the investigation of claims.
Conducting audit to internal processes.
Liaise with the investigation department and follow up on the pending reports
Review investigation reports to ensure that all the information requested has been given and reject/reissue the instructions if the same if it is incomplete or does not address the issues raised in the instructions
Obtaining adequate evidence through the investigators to ensure that fraudulent claims are dismissed in court.
The information should be obtained prior to the claim turning legal Injuries verification and medical re-examinations
Ensure that data is accurately and efficiently updated in the claims system resulting in the system data being a reflection of the physical file through proper update of the system data of the claims and incidents.
The data should be updated within 24 hours of receiving claim or incident documents
Ensuring that review of claims and incident files is fully comprehensive and completed within the set timelines
Preparation of the liability analysis and obtaining approval on
the same within 48 hours of the investigation report being received
Conducting proper factual and legal research required for achievement of the strategy on the claims
Interpret incident data ,analyze results and provide ongoing reports
Preparation of weekly and monthly reports on incidence analysis.
Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
University degree in Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics, Finance/Economics or equivalent from an institution recognized by Commission for Higher Education
Professional Qualifications
ACII, ACCA/CIRM
Experience
MUST have at least two (2) years’ experience in a busy commercial organization
Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
Excellent knowledge and understanding of contemporary risk management principles and practices and reporting
Business/Department strategy formulation and execution
Supervisory and leadership skills managing team/department performance and staff
Skills and Attributes
High integrity and ethical level; Able to maintain utmost confidentiality of information in their possession
Excellent analytical skills, business acumen and a strong understanding of risk management
Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
Planning and organization skills
Commercial awareness and numerical skills
Self-motivated, confident and outgoing personality
Have great attention to detail and able to get things done to completion
