Directline Assurance Company LimitedVacancy AdvertisementWe are looking for a motivated and qualified professional to fill the position of Re-insurance Manager.
Overall Purpose of the Job: The Job purpose will be organization and realization of reinsurance projects.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Support individual departments with all Reinsurance-related issues
Review and recommend for approval Reinsurance contract wordings
Use the system to resolve all treaty coding issues
Ensure that the Company deals with reputable reinsurance companies at all times
Timely processing of statutory returns
Processing and negotiating competitive treaty renewal terms
Placement of facultative business. Both inward and outward
Preparing reinsurance reports for management
Ensuring timely processing of recoveries
Ensuring that the Company’s reinsurance programs are adequate & cost effective
Processing of branch credit notes and refunds
Processing of Insurance Premium Finance applications
In liaison with the MD formulate and monitor the Department strategic plans.
Any other duties that may be assigned by the MD from time to time.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
University degree from an institution recognized by Commission for Higher Education
Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
Minimum Overall Grade of C+ in KCSE
Professional Qualifications
Professional Accounting qualification i.e. CPA-K/ ACCA/ACII
Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance (COP) or
AIIK Diploma/CII Diploma or any insurance related qualification will be an added advantage
Experience
She/he must be familiar with Re-insurance accounting
IT proficiency- Computerized accounting system skills
Exposure to and understanding of various classes of insurance business in international insurance and reinsurance markets.
Thorough knowledge of reinsurance techniques and practices
At least 8 – 10
years of experience with motor vehicle insurance companies.
Experience reporting to a Board of Directors will be an added advantage.
Ideal candidate should have a mature personality and at least 35 years of age and above.
