Job SummaryReporting to Digital Green’s DAAS Product Director, the Support Analyst position will be responsible for supporting the Ministry of Agriculture of Ethiopia in the development, management and utilization of the FarmStack.
FarmStack provides a comprehensive solution in enabling public and private organizations work to support smallholder farmers by means of better coordination of approach, systems, and knowledge base through a digital platform that will use data and technology to integrate various components of the extension ecosystem.
FarmStack will aid in the development of large-scale dynamic farmer/ farm profiles by combining farmer profiles with localized, time-sensitive data and leveraging existing digital channels.
FarmStack will provide tailored content across multiple dissemination channels (e.g., video, IVR, SMS, radio) by linking data from public, private and civil society partners across the value chain and will facilitate improved services across the value chain and enable farmers to connect with input providers, financial service providers and markets so that they can not only increase yields but also income.
Responsibilities
Support the MoA and its partners in the management, adoption and utilization of FarmStack and other technological interventions implemented by Digital Green to strengthen the Digital Agricultural extension.
Support the MoA and other stakeholders in the management, adoption and utilization of FarmStack.
Manage current and future systems implemented at MoA level to strengthen the digital agricultural extension system ( E.g. Manage DA/SMS Registry)
Participate in MoA's data sharing and security policies development
Support MoA in identifying partner specific data sharing and security needs of the various datasets present at the ministry
Capacity building of various MoA staff in utilization, adoption and management of
FarmStack and various digital agricultural extension strengthening interventions.
Participate in the dissemination of relevant farm level content specifically tailored across multiple channels to support in the improvement of value-chain services within Ethiopia
Liaison with MoA in the development and implementation of various use cases to validate FarmStak
Evangelize the product with key stakeholders such as government entities and other partners and build thought leadership among the community around the applicability of FarmStack in a variety
use cases
Perform any other task assigned by the MoA in relation to the role
The roles and responsibilities are not only limited to the above mentioned.
This role will be based at the premise of MoA and will closely work with the ICT Directorate.
Use and contribute to Digital Green’s existing digital technologies and tools in Ethiopia
Utilize current MIS Software such as CoCo (Connect On Line Connect Offline) and Unique Farmer IDs for Digital Platform development and continue to maintain the database as required
When needed and advised by the DAAS Product Director, will work collaboratively with team members in India, and the United States to contribute in building products and services in the aid of the smallholder farmers.
Job Requirements
Skills and Experience
BSc Degree or Masters Degree in Computer Science, IT or relevant field of study
5+ years of experience in areas related to software analysis, software product development, Business analysis and product management
Foundational understanding of computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
Proficiency and have hands on experience in one or more of programming languages
Have experience in Agile development methodology.
Extensive knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and other data storage solutions as well as implementing production websites (HTTP, HTML, JavaScript)
Knowledge of Windows, Unix/Linux environments and new and existing mobile application technologies.
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
Experience in working with partners or partnership projects is desirable.
