The role holder will build financial (predictive and descriptive) models to support business strategy and decision-making accuracy, as well as sustaining the models in adherence to the Model Governance framework.


Responsibilities


  • Build financial models (predictive and descriptive) using historical data and provide forecasts based on various industry-related operating metrics to predict/quantify risk, discover opportunities, and identify warning signs early.
  • Sustain the models by updating them to cater for changes in business.
  • Applying appropriate sensitivity and scenario analysis to support and improve accuracy of business decisions and actions.
  • Accurate modelling of business scenarios and portfolios, developing new transaction models and enhancing the existing models.
  • Analyzing and identifying data requirements that relate to derivation rules and model tracking.
  • Identifying the key financial and non-financial risks, recommending actions for mitigation of those risks.
  • Training colleagues to ensure that they are well equipped to mine value from analytics and to support business growth.


    Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in in financial mathematics or related field.
  • MSc Financial Engineering is an added advantage.
  • Professional qualification in Accounting/Finance (CFA or ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • Excellent math and analytical skills.
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar field.
  • Ability to use complex modelling techniques.
  • Knowledge of SQL (Studio Mgt skills).
  • R programming proficiency with Visual Studio or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages advantageous.
