About the Organization

Development for Peace Organization (DPO) is an Ethiopian civil society organization established in 2020 with a mission of striving to meet the humanitarian and developmental needs of societies regardless of race, color, religion or cultural background.

The organization is legally registered to work in Ethiopia (Reg. 5164), South Sudan (Reg. 4178), Kenya (OP.218/051/22-400/12732 and Somalia (Reg. NGOD/Moifar0422/022); it is also processing its registration in Yemen.

Job Summary

The Liaison Officer is responsible for maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, partners and donors.

The Liaison Officer will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating with internal departments to ensure that the project goals are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including government agencies, community leaders and other organizations

Coordinate and communicate with internal departments

Represent the organization at meetings and events to ensure that organizational goals are met
Represent DPO at cluster meetings and events

Provide information and updates to stakeholders

Negotiate agreements and contracts

Resolve conflicts and issues

Track

and report on progress

Reports to: Regional Coordinator

Job Requirements

Qualification

Educational

BSC degree in public relations, communication or related field.

Experience

Minimum 5 years for BA or 3 years for MA of related work experience in government relations, public relations

Experience working in NGO/INGO is an added advantage

Skill

Good presentation, training and facilitation skills

Good communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to train and mentor staff

Good spoken and written English,

Good computer and report writing skill

Knowing the Local language is a plus
