Qualifications
  • undergraduate degree (Bachelor) in social sciences, communication, media studies, project management, or related fields
  • several years of professional experience in project implementation, preferably in governance, media development, or related areas
  • strong knowledge and understanding of the Ugandan media landscape, with a focus on rural media outlets, media viability, constructive dialogue, and/or public accountability and transparency in Uganda
  • practical journalistic experience desirable; experience as a trainer/facilitator an asset
    experience working with diverse internal and external stakeholders with excellent interpersonal and coordination skills
    excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to work under pressure and towards tight deadlines
  • strong communication skills with professional language fluency in English; knowledge of local languages an advantage
  • high level of intercultural competence and respect for diversity
