Qualifications of the Team Leader

Education/training (2.1.1):
  • university degree (diploma/master’s degree) in political science, international relations, development studies, or law.

    Language (2.1.2):
  • C2-level language proficiency in English.

    General Professional Experience (2.1.3):
  • 15 years’ proven work in policy development, research, and/or stakeholder engagement, particularly in the African context.

    Specific Professional Experience (2.1.4):
  • 13 years’ experience in development of strategies and frameworks for international organizations such as AU and/or UN. Working experience with RECs and/or RM is also compulsory.

    Leadership (2.1.5):
  • 10 years’ management/leadership experience as project team leader or manager in a company.

    Regional experience (2.1.6): 10 years’ working experience in Africa.

    Development cooperation (DC) experience (2.1.7):
  • 8 years’ experience working in DC projects, preferably with AU, UN and/or GIZ.

    Other (2.1.8):
  • 5 years’ experience in developing, organising, and facilitating events, meetings, and workshops.

    Qualifications of the Short-term Regional Expert Pool (Two Members)

    Education/training (2.6.1):
  • university degree (diploma/master’s degree) in social sciences, international relations, development studies, or law.

    Language (2.6.2):
  • C1-level language proficiency in English.

    General Professional Experience
    (2.6.3):
  • 6 years’ experience in strategy development and strategy advisory services, with a focus on the African context and RECs/RMs.

    Specific Professional Experience (2.6.4):
  • 4 years’ working experience in communication and publication, especially formulation of policy brief, is expected. Familiarity with research including conducting desk reviews and interviews is required.
