About the Department
The value that Deloitte Risk Advisory Africa creates for organisations is synonymous with operational excellence. We maximize the performance of our clients’ internal business operations by identifying, predicting, resolving and mitigation imminent threats through our five key risk areas- Strategic and reptation risk, regulatory risk, Financial risk, Operational risk and Cyber risk. These five business areas work in unison to provide integrated solutions unique to the organisational requirements of any business.
The Risk Advisory Function integrates powerful and practical solutions in cyber security, strategy, regulation and controls, backed by deep business knowledge across multi-disciplinary teams. Job Description
Main purpose of the job
The incumbent will support the Associate Director in delivery of services to/at client premises on delegated engagement/project to promote our leadership capabilities which are living our purpose, influence, performance drive, strategic direction and talent development.
The role will provide an opportunity to help tackle complex business problems faced by Organizations through exposure in the following areas:
Accounting and Internal Controls;
Regulatory & Compliance Services;
Information Technology Assurance;
Cyber & Strategic Risk; and
Data Analytics.
This is also an opportunity to sharpen the candidate’s leadership, analytical and business skills while working as part of the Risk Advisory team, which is committed to helping clients build trust, resilience and security, shaping responsible businesses that can sustain and grow in an increasingly unpredictable environment.
As a Manager, the staff member will be required to:
Perform the core tasks associated with each of the above services and lead/ supervise diverse teams in their execution.
Research on innovation and trends related to the business, industry and economy and use acquired information to enhance service offerings.
Contribute to the regional and business area winning business strategy and targets.
Manage own work against project plans to ensure a superior client experience; and
Support the identification of prospective business development opportunities.
What you will do
Track outputs against Service Level Agreement and report to Senior Manager on any unforeseen issues arising;
Seek to identify additional sales opportunities in client business;
Assist in the preparation of proposals/tenders and presentations on request;
Is a support resource in planning of sales presentations and client negotiation teams for new and retained business;
Develop market network in business and build relationships that generate leads;
Build relationships across Deloitte service lines to understand broader offerings and seek opportunities for cross-selling;
Generate innovative solutions on projects/engagements in collaboration with team members to enhance/renew service offerings to client;
Lead teams through the development of mitigation plans that are action-oriented, efficient, and aligned with the client’s risk tolerance and risk appetite levels;
Advise client’s leadership on leading practices for risk assessment governance to enable effective oversight and optimal execution;
Apply a solid knowledge of business process design frameworks and leading practices to assess the client’s organization;
Uncover operational inefficiencies and non-compliance situations in business processes and propose designs that align to a client’s business objectives and leading industry practice;
Advise client on innovative, automated, and data-driven approaches to design and implement business processes;
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
At least a second-class upper bachelor’s degree;
Five
(5) or more years of experience in Information Technology (IT) systems controls review, IT project implementation, Internal Audit, Risk Management or related fields;
Key Performance Areas
Strategic Impact - Support the Associate Director on delivery of designated engagement / project, managing the implementation of the agreed deliverables.
Budgets/Profitability - Manages engagement budget through accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability management.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation - Ability to advise client on establishing or improving end-to-end risk management systems, processes, and frameworks to enhance strategic alignment with business goals, enable effective decision making and response, and monitor regulatory compliance.
Business Process Assessment and Design - Ability to design data and technology-enabled business processes that enable value-adding business outcomes.
Internal Controls Assessment and Design - Ability to advise client on solving control design issues based on industry leading practices and regulatory requirements.
Data Management & Technology - Ability to interpret business analyses to identify underlying issues, patterns and relationships, and make data-driven targeted recommendations.
Build Industry – based Domain Expertise - Ability to leverage domain expertise and industry knowledge to deliver tailored analytics solutions.
