Job Description

To support FS Advisory Credit Risk Team in delivery of services to / at client premises on delegated engagements and projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

Undergraduate degree specializing in one or more of the following disciplines: Statistics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Economics or Econometrics

At least 5 years of work experience (of which at least 2 years in management) in banking, financial services consulting, or a similar environment

Credit risk modelling capabilities including predictive and macroeconomic modelling techniques

Comprehensive familiarity with Basel III regulations and recent developments, as well as the IFRS 9 standard

Understanding of South Africa’s financial regulatory and economic environment as well as relevant SARB/PRA directives

Understanding of financial operations within the banking book of a commercial bank

Familiarity with principles of model risk management and the typical governance structure of a commercial bank

Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Coding skills: SAS, SAS (Enterprise Guide), R, and/or Python

Personal aptitudes: fluent communicator, assertive, reliable, diligent, accountable, collaborative, attentive to detal

Roles & Responsibilities

Management of admin and delivery of audit/advisory projects

Technical challenge of clients’ frameworks and methodologies

Support in implementation of the division’s strategic objectives

Communication of project challenges and outcomes with clients

Coaching and mentoring of analysts

Technical development and training of analysts

Presentation on technical topics to internal team

Support in the development of thought leadership pieces

Drafting of proposals for the acquisition of new business

Design of creative solutions to resolve internal and client challenges
