Del Monte Marketing Manager Jobs in Kenya

Job purpose:

This is a senior management position reporting to the regional sales and marketing manager in sub Saharan Africa, responsible for implementation and coordination of strategic marketing decisions in the region.

He/she will spearhead product packaging innovation and develop new business segments by coordinating regional and marketing initiatives, conduct consumer research / insights, advertising packaging designs and supervise organization exhibitions and events.

Main accountability of the accounting manager will include:

Marketing strategy and brand support:

Defining, quantifying and analyzing market opportunities for growth in new market segment and new channels together in order to define strategy and objectives.

Organizing brand stewardship and coordinating strategy developments for brands and products in region, working in close collaboration with units commercial departments.

Managing and controlling market budget in a cost effective manner.

Ensuring decisions are implemented without delays so that fast sales of products can be recorded as per plan and objectives.

Operational marketing:

Performing marketing analysis, consumer studies for product packaging and price positioning (marketing mix) in close collaboration with sales department.

Review sales marketing presentation, documentation and argumentations to support sales team with sales negotiations.

Elaborating reports and analysis from data gathered form sales unit to analyze performance and trends of exiting products and new products sold.

Supporting the sales team/ markets through co-ordination of marketing projects in the region

Understanding distributors and their organizations to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of programs

Seeking synergies across markets and countries in the region organizing communication about products and projects in the region

Controlling brand product harmonization in the region

Communicating with other departments on marketing decisions and

gather important information regarding:

Sales unit.

Packaging and labelling departments.

Quality control/ product regulation/ raw material purchasing/ production.

Legal and trademarks.

Communication- public relations:

Co-coordinating and participating in brand/products promotional activities and trade shows/exhibitions, brand awareness, working with developers, advertisers, media.

Elaborating communications, for management approval as ‘public relations’ to inform the business or public of company products developments, environmental and sustainability initiatives or projects.

Drafting answers/comments to information published related to Del Monte operations, projects, products or organization.

Preparing weekly Marketing reports for the information of head of units and commercial teams.

Knowledge and skill requirements:

Degree in marketing or business management. Those with MBA will have an added advantage.

Minimum 5 years’ experience as marketing manager in a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment preferably a foods manufacturing company.

Minimum 6 to 8 years overall experience.

Sound knowledge of the Kenyan and East African market.

Knowledge of media market and creative services.

Good understanding of consumer behavior and consumer needs with a sound business judgment.

Conversant with market research techniques and methodology

Excellent interpersonal skills and an astute communicator with proficiency in computer applications

An effective team leader with proven track record

Ability to deal with change
