Debt Collector Job in Kenya

Reports To: General Manager


Factorhouse Kenya Limited is a Micro-Finance firm with its main operations in Kenya.

We are seeking Debt collector to effectively manage the company’s credit / Debt control policy and minimize overdue debtor’s balances.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to regularly follow up all outstanding debts for specific customer accounts with the respective sales staff in liaison to the General Manager.
  • To verify facts of all High Risk Accounts before passing a credit note. Ensure that all supporting documentations are duly authorized and factual before follow-up while adhering to Factor House policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records of all customers in a file (invoices, credit notes, remittance slips, and any manner of correspondences with the customer) and ensure that the same is filed system and in order for ease of traceability.
  • Meeting with debtors to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary.
  • Handle disputed issues and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms.
  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required i.e. preparing accurate periodic credit reports, as required.
  • Send out client letters/reminders/emails as may be agreed from time to time.

    Minimum Requirements

  • CCP and/or Diploma in
    credit/Debit management a MUST.
  • Degree in financial discipline and ACCA/CPA will be added advantage
  • Minimum 1 yr Debt Collections experience;
  • knowledge of collections procedure.
  • The ideal candidate shall have previous experience dealing with high volume calling and hitting monthly targets.
  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented and a team player with a flexible approach.
  • Outgoing and confident personality who is able to operate at all levels.
  • Preferably male between the ages of 25 – 40YRS
