  • The foundation was created with a vision for Ethiopia by Deborah’s family: Deborah Foundation strives to make the Ethiopian health, education, and policy infrastructure more inclusive for Ethiopian youth with mental disabilities with special focus on Down syndrome.

    Job Summary

  • The Project Manager of Deborah Foundation is expected to be responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion. This role requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously.
    The managerial role includes:

  • Leading project planning sessions

  • Coordinating staff and internal resources

  • Managing project progress and adapt work as required

  • Ensuring projects meet deadlines

  • Managing relationships with clients and stakeholders

  • Designing and signing off on contracts

  • Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation

  • Participating in tender process i.e. design, submission and review

  • Designing risk mitigation plan

  • Conducting project review and creating detailed reports for executive staff

  • Optimizing and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary

  • Securing growth opportunities and initiating new projects

  • Managing large and diverse teams

    Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, project management or other related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Amharic and English is mandatory. Knowledge of Oromiffa language is a plus.

  • Nonprofit experience, with experience with project management across Ethiopia is preferred.

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

  • Leadership skills, big-picture thinking and vision, attention to detail

  • Conflict resolution skills
