Job DescriptionAbout UsDawit & Associates law office (DALO) established in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2013, by our Principal Attorney with a prime mission as coadjutor of the justice system and pursuance of providing legal consultancy and representation for our clients.
Our office has earned a reputation in providing high-end professional legal service for clients engaged in various sectors of business activities.
While we are a general practice, we specialize in our service in areas where we have gained particular and pertinent experience over the years. Whether advising our clients on formation, operation, and transaction of business or representing them in litigation, arbitration, and business negotiations, we execute successful legal strategies and solutions in an efficient and effective manner to bring about the desired outcome.
Over the years, DALO provided consultancy, advice, assistance and representation to domestic and foreign clients including individuals, private and public companies, national corporations and institutions in the areas of intellectual property, investment law, cooperate and commercial law, construction and real estate, banking and finance, taxation, employment and immigration, inheritance and family law, charities and societies, despite resolution and criminal litigation.

Responsibilities Perform a variety of tasks to support lawyers, including maintaining and organizing files, conducting legal research, and drafting documents
Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; confirming case status with attorney.
Helps develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case; scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; drafting complaints; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel; generating status reports.
Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progress.
Maintains case costs by verifying outstanding balances with the attorney, clients, and providers.
Support case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences; preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses; organizing materials for a team case review.
Enhances trial proceedings by organizing evidence; preparing exhibits; scheduling witnesses; ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed; taking courtroom notes.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, and reading professional publications.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
LLB degree or above.
minimum of 2 years of professional working experience.
Legal research, drafting legal documents, law office administration.
Reporting skills, litigation, client relationships, organization, planning.
Attention to detail, dependability, and confidentiality.
Language- Excellent in Amharic and English.
