Job Description

Managed Talent Solutions' client, a giant in the automotive industry is looking for an experienced Systems/Server Administrator for a 3 month FTC. This person will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Server Administration

Install, configure and maintain server hardware and operating systems.

Perform routine system updates, patches, and firmware upgrades.

Monitor server performance, resource utilization, and system logs.

Virtualization

Manage and maintain virtualized environments using technologies such as Hyper-V.

Create, configure, and troubleshoot virtual machines (VMs).

Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized systems.

Security and Compliance

Implement and enforce server security best practices.

Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Backup and Recovery

Configure and manage backup solutions for data protection and recovery.

Develop and test disaster recovery plans and procedures.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations, procedures and changes.

Generate regular reports on system performance, capacity and security.

User Support

Provide technical support and assistance

to Support line technicians and end-users.

Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications and Skills

At least 3 years proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft and HyperV.

Linux and Redhat knowledge will be an advantage.

IBM/AIX knowledge will be an advantage.

Understanding of server security best practices and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
