Job Summary: -

Manage and lead the technical function to produce consistently high- quality products at optimum cost in safe manner with compliance to corporate and technical governance as well as statutory and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

Develop and implement strategic plan for technical/manufacturing department in order to meet world class manufacturing standards in production and quality.

Work at a strategic level to ensure all production targets are meet.

Craft and implement both plant strategy of Brewing, Packaging, Engineering and Quality.

Provide leadership in the definition of development/implementation plan in conjunction with internal client through definition of KPIs, requirements of multi-functional team, Project structure

Operational Efficiency

Ensure quality products are efficiently produced as per the plan with optimal utilization of assets and human resources.

Manage and co-ordinate operation of both plants (people, process and system) in order to effectively and efficiently achieve the required standard of product quality, cost, and reliability.

Ensure plants are operate at optimal capacity to reach all targets and KPIs required and agreed by the CEO and shareholders.

Develop capacity to achieve all targets and KPIs

Continuously drive improvements with regard to manufacturing capability and performance driven by resolute implementation of the manufacturing strategy.

Executive management of all manufacturing assets (Asset care, optimize capacity utilization, product and brand integrity and Technical CAPEX plans)

Manage the technical department relationship with all stakeholder and customers

Safety, Health and Environment

Ensure safety, healthy, environment and quality standards are maintained.

Ensure good corporate governance and control in the function, including compliance to all applicable statutory and regulatory requirement.

People

Manage, support, influence and coach team members and individuals within the organization to achieve positive results of the objective/goal.

Ensure people development are done as per the business demand.

Project management

Identify, develop and implement technical projects for optimizing plants and performance.

Effectively communicate relevant management and project information to team members, stakeholder and senior management.

Identify potential project

risk and implement an appropriate risk management plan to address them

Follow up on project status to ensure all goals and objectives are being met.

Budget

Set and manage budget for the technical function.

Manage working capital

Job Requirements

BSc degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical and Electrical), Microbiology, Biochemistry or equivalent

At least 15 years of brewing experience in managing manufacturing plants and people in a team oriented environment. Key is having multi-plant experience and/or that of running an operation of scale 3 million hector litters plus.

5 years’ experience in a senior management position.

Experience in modern manufacturing philosophy and world class manufacturing work practice.

Experience in brewing, quality, asset care, project management and new product development.

Preferably a brew master.

An MBA would be ideal but not essential.

Key competencies & Behavioral Skills

A very good understanding of Brewing, micro and quality management.

Sound knowledge and understanding of assets care and modern maintenance practice.

Very good leadership, people development and coaching skill

Able to set standards and follow through.
Knowledge of local and international regulatory framework

Knowledge of ISO & HACCP
