Danish Refugee Council NGO Logistics Coordinator Jobs in Kenya
IntroductionDRC is a Danish international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. DRC is present in more than 30 conflict territories around the world assisting displaced people with shelter, food, income generating activities, legal aid and a wide range of other protection assistance.
Danish Demining Group (DDG) is a unit within DRC Danish Demining Group (DDG) is a Humanitarian Mine Action Unit in the Danish Refugee Council (DRC). DDG operates in some of the most fragile and conflict-affected places in the world.
Responsibilities
Identify and plan the CO purchases beforehand based on a Country Master Procurement Plan in collaboration with all relevant staff
Provide support and work closely with the program/ project heads in developing procurement plans.
Plan and implement an effective purchase order management system at Field level and organize schedules for bulk and economical purchases
Monitor local supply sources and chains and optimize supply to the field locations
Ensure the quality of the supply chain process
Ensure monthly reporting systems are implemented across the field offices in line with DRC procedures for procurement, stock, vehicles and assets.
Review the monthly logistics reports for the field office and advise programmes where there are irregularities or areas of concern that need follow up.
Make proposals to the HoFA and field SMTs for the implementation and the improvement of logistic procedures at the field offices
Any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in Logistics and Supply Chain strongly preferred with relevant professional certification
A minimum of 5 years in Logistics management experience in NGO environment, including significant field operations experience running both development and emergency programs
Substantial experience in logistics, including procurement, supply chain, fleet management & inventory
Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours, and work with incoming teams in the event of major emergencies
Willingness and ability to travel extensively in country

Danish Refugee Council NGO Livelihoods
Officer-Microenterprise Development Jobs in Kenya
Responsibilities
Programme Management, Development, Monitoring and Evaluation
Carry out participatory needs assessments and identify appropriate livelihood interventions to increase incomes for the local community and reduce poverty in Kakuma and Kalobeyei
Participate in periodic program review and planning meetings; and external meetings as often as requested by the Livelihoods Team Leader.
Ensure project staff adhere to CHS Principles in day to day project implementation; participate in CHS audits; support M&E plan.
Assist in developing livelihoods concept notes and proposals.
Coordinate field reporting: prepare technical internal and external reports.
Qualifications
Must have a degree in Agribusiness management, Agricultural Economics, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, or other livelihoods related disciplines;
Minimum 2 years’ experience setting up and implementing livelihoods or income generating projects preferably with an NGO in a refugee/IDP setting
Skills or training in basic book keeping or financial literacy is desirable
Prior experience working with local governments and stakeholders in implementation of projects
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; well organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Working knowledge of MS Office and other relevant computer applications,
Proven understanding of microenterprise / small business development including Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) approach (ILO), VSLA / Groups Savings and Loan approaches,
Able to adapt to changing program priorities and emergency priorities that may arise
Strong self-starter, able to take initiatives.
Good planning and organizational skills coupled with problem solving capabilities
Hands-on community mobilization skills
Experience with hides and skins an added advantage
Experience in working in harsh climatic conditions and ability to communicate in any languages used in South Suda, the Great Lakes area, and / or Turkana will be an added advantage
