2) Job Description

DRC is expected to conduct a Stove production and maintenance training in Dollo Ado Woreda, Liben Zone, Somali region, Ethiopia. The training participants will be Stove Cooperative from SEE (Save the Environment Ethiopia), Energy implementing partner. We aim to train at least 15 people.

Develop an understanding and able to articulate the importance of considering cultural, social and technical factors before implementing an improved cook stove production and maintenance sessions

Design and construct enough samples of cook stoves from such as, Multi-flexi, Upesi, Charcoal Briquette (or “Merchaye”), Kenyan Ceramic Firewood stove and one Tikikil model stoves

Practice using the stoves and able to explain how they function

Understand and describe the principles of stove testing and conduct ‘water boiling kitchen performance’ tests

Understand and describe the applications of stove testing to an improved cook stove production

Be able to diagnose causes of malfunctioning stoves

Provide written documentation and designs of the Multi-Flexi, Upesi,, Charcoal, Briquette (or “Merchaye”), Kenyan Ceramic Firewood, Tikikil type stoves with their ceramic parts and know how to use and produce the molds each stoves.

Identify the right type of soil and sand needed for the

cook stove production

The cook stove production group comprises of both clay producers and metal workers, there will be also an in-depth training session on galvanized sheet metals and how the metal is bend to the needed design to manufacture the efficient cooking stoves

Accommodation services for trainers will be covered by the consultant

Providing all relevant information about the assignment

Facilitating all transportation related costs but not accommodation

Provision of timely feedback to works delivered as per mutually agreed timelines.

Pay the payments as agreed

Deliver inception and final report of training summary in English.

Job Requirements

Eligible candidates must have the following:

The consultant should have renewed stove production license from the respective authority

At least 5 years of relevant stove production experience

Prior experience of stove production and maintenance training is welcomed

Be able to communicate effectively: English is an advantage.
