Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments of patients, including physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic tests.

  • Diagnose and treat common medical conditions, injuries, and illnesses based on clinical findings and evidence-based guidelines.

  • Prescribe medications, and administer treatments as authorized by regulatory authorities and within scope of practice.

  • Provide counselling and health education to patients and their families on preventive healthcare, lifestyle modifications, and treatment plans.

  • Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and cultural sensitivity in interactions with patients from diverse backgrounds and communities.

  • Record data, write MOH reports and submit internal reports to the Administrator with copy to the Executive Director.

  • Ensure Data Management compliance by Medical team

  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and hygienic healthcare environment.

  • Manage all equipment and stock related to the above functions

  • Maintain professional competence through ongoing CMEs, training programs, and participation in professional associations.

  • Attend village outreaches where applicable

  • Initiate out of school programs around the facility to support youth health and outreach programs to support the facility health outcomes.

  • Any other duties as maybe assigned by your supervisor.

    Qualifications

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

  • Must be fluent in Maasai language.

  • Valid practising licence from the relevant regulatory
    body or medical council.

  • Proven clinical experience working as a Clinical Officer in a healthcare setting, preferably in primary or secondary care facilities.

  • Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess and manage a wide range of medical conditions and emergencies.

  • Proficiency in medical record-keeping, documentation, and use of electronic health record systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.

  • Commitment to ethical conduct, patient confidentiality, and professional standards of practice.

  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Continuous professional development and adherence to regulatory requirements for licence renewal.
