DCA is seeking to recruit an experienced and energetic Kenyan National for the following position:

Project Assistant – Agriculture.

The overall role of the Project Assistant is to support implementation, monitoring and data collection for DCA’s agricultural projects in Turkana West Sub-county.

The position is based in Kakuma, Turkana County and reports to the Area Manager (AM) based in Kakuma.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Development of relevant training materials.

Supervision and technical backstoping for field staff working under him/her.

Plan, coordinate and facilitate beneficiary trainings.

Taking lead in field data collection and analysis.

Contribute in design and testing of innovative applications/technologies for efficient project implmentation.

Produce monthly projects progress reports.

Required Qualifications

A degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, Range management or related field.

A diploma with relevant experience is also acceptable.

Proven relevant experience with at least 2 years experience in an NGO setting preferably working with refugees and refugee-hosting communities.

Hands on experience in food security and livelihoods trainings and supervision of field staff.

A working knowledge

of Turkana West Sub-county or other pastroal & agro-pastoralist settings.

Good interpersonal skills and a proven team player.

Self-driven results-oriented personality.
